Ninetails – New EP – ‘Slept and Did Not Sleep’

“…perfect middle ground between electro-pop and guitar driven sounds.”

It’s that time of year again. The cold is setting in and you’re just plodding along waiting for your Christmas holidays; you need a bit of a pick me up. Well, look no further. Ninetails have got it covered.

The Liverpool based four piece have just released the full stream of their EP “Slept and Did Not Sleep”, in time to make those long winter nights a little easier. If you’ve had a long day, if you’re stressed or a bit downbeat, stick this on and it’s sure to perk you up.

The ambient first track which is their new single “Maybe We” hits a perfect middle ground between electro-pop and guitar driven sounds. It’s relaxation in music form. And it’s beautiful.

The rest of the EP follows suit, getting a little more upbeat and indie after the first track. The last track ‘Mama Aniseed’ in particular feels a little more like Bloc Party than a new age Pink Floyd, but it all ties together
very nicely.

Ninetails are definitely worth a listen, they’ve created something modestly brilliant. The world is fast catching on to this band. They’ve already been tipped off by the likes of NME earlier this year, and I don’t think this will be the last we hear of this exceptional quartet.

The band are making their début London appearance this Thursday 29th November at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town, London.
