The Babies – New Singles – ‘The War’ and ‘My Name’

“They have avoided adopting bizarre styles and unconventional elements, but have kept it simple while still creating their own unique sound.”

With hints of indie characteristics mixed with some classic 60’s rock and roll, The Babies’ have very successfully created a completely new sound in a world full of similar sounding indie bands.

The four-piece are set to release two new singles later this month. ‘The War’ and ‘My Name’ are two of the first songs to have been written by the band, and were recorded in 2009. Now, they are set to be officially released to the public for the first time.

The singles are energetic, easy to listen to and original and make the band extremely likeable and accessible.

They have avoided adopting bizarre styles and unconventional elements, but have kept it simple while still creating their own unique sound. With a mix of simple yet catchy melodies and vocal lines, upbeat rhythms and a classic guitar and drum set up, the band enable their original sound to appeal to a wide range of listeners with very different tastes.

The band say that the singles are not a true representation of The Babies’ current sound, but offer an insight to the band’s roots, and show off the real energy and uplifting nature of their music.

I believe this band will soon be loved by people of all ages from all walks of life, whether they are young fans of bands like the Vaccines, or old Rock ‘n’ Roll fans looking for something new.

Their cheerful vibes make them the perfect feel good band, and with the singles’ official release on Record Story Day on April 21 2012, they are sure to be on my summer playlist. A digital single will also be released on April 23.
